Indenting first line, vs paragraph spacing: The traditional way is to indent first line and leave zero spacing between paragraphs. The alternative, made popular in the digital age, is to space out paragraphs (and thus no need for indentation).

General principle: use the traditional way for linear reading, and use the new alternative for skimming and location of information. Thus most literature, journalism and scientific works had better follow the traditional way, whereas manuals, indices, documentations had better follow the alternative.

网络发布也大概按照这个习惯。我觉得，书籍出版，报纸印刷时，大部分是使用段落与段落间不空一行，而是采用段落前缩进2字。

我觉得段落缩进2字要和段落间是不是空行配合起来评估。

对于一般现代人网络写作习惯，比如博客，TWITTER等，文章句子都偏短，还有梨花体，流水帐等形式的出现，用缩进反而更不清晰。如果每一段文字数量都相当有保障，那缩进影响不大。
